I received a M.S in Marine Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in December 2015, advised by Dr. Adrian Marchetti. I graduated with Highest Honors in Environmental Science and a minor in Marine Science from UNC in 2013. Since graduating, I’ve also worked as a Research Scientist and Lab Manager in the Marchetti Lab.
In addition to being a scientist, I’m a science communicator, writer, and educator. I’ve worked as a Science Communication Intern with the Association of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO), marine biology instructor for the Duke Talent Identification Program, Americorps environmental educator with the Triangle Land Conservancy, and am currently assisting with communications and outreach for the Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Partnership. I’m passionate about fostering excitement about science and nature in nonscientists, particularly through finding creative ways to make science relevant to diverse groups of people.
